Dental Implants

What are dental implants?

One of the most significant advances in dentistry, dental implants are a strong, permanent solution to replace missing teeth.

A dental implant is a titanium device placed in the jaw, which will give support to a tooth or bridge prosthesis. Thus allowing improved physical appearance and restoration of chewing function.

They are suitable for patients who have lost one, several or all of their teeth.

2 – Root of natural tooth

3 – Prosthetic component

4 – Prosthetic crown

5 – Dental implant

What does the process involve?

Our implantologist Dr Natasha Flavell will first evaluate your case and advise you on the best possible solution to meet your needs.

The implant procedure itself has two stages. Initially one or more implants are placed surgically into the bone, and then left for a period of weeks to a few months to allow for adequate healing. Once this healing process is complete, replacement teeth are attached to the implant to restore aesthetics and function.

Same day implants

Same day implants are very popular with patients who need a quick tooth replacement.

Dental implants can only be placed on the same day if there is sufficient gum and bone support. After an initial consultation with our implantologist Dr Natasha Flavell, she will be able to inform you if you are suitable for a same day implant.
